    How does FindingYou Work?

    FindingYou’s expertise is in astrology and it uses traditional Vedic astrological principles in its algorithm to calculate

    • Your personalized birth chart.
    • Compatibility between 2 people (both birth charts are overlapped in order to calculate the synastry between them). All our astronomical calculations use the Swiss Ephemeris (sourced from the core of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

    This is a very thorough and complex algorithm which we developed to bring you the best astrological service possible.

    With FindingYou, you’ll be able to explore people around you and discover those that have a deeper connection to you. This is accomplished by looking at 2 factors: Astrological compatibility and psychometric profile (Jungian and Big Five).

    How is Astrology connected with FindingYou?

    FindingYou primarily uses Vedic Astrology (Jyotisha). For those unfamiliar with this astrology it is one of the most reliable, complex and ancient systems of astrology. This system is used for both individual natal chart evaluation, daily predictions and compatibility assessment. In addition to that we use some principles from western astrology within the context of the primary system. For compatibility analysis we rely on methods like Kuta analysis, Kuja and Shani Dosha, Navamsha matching, and various other methods. From western astrological traditions we use methods such as synastry and composite charts. For predictive purposes we emphasize the use of Vimshottari Dasha as well as the transits of Grahas through the Houses (Bhavas) of the birth chart, Ashtakavarga strengths, as well as transits through the Sarvatobhadra Chakra, Kota Chakra, Shula Chakra and Chandra Kalanala Chakra. From western astrological traditions we add the use of primary, secondary and tertiary progressions and include the outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

    What type of signs does FindingYou use?

    We use the sidereal zodiac for signs. The Ayanamsha we use is True Chitrapaksha. This applies to both signs and Nakshatras.

    What house system does FindingYou use?

    We use the equal sign/houses, but with a special use of MC (midheaven or Madya Lagna)

    What Makes FindingYou Different from Other Dating Apps?

    Finding you is the only dating app that provides you with an astrological compatibility calculation on the fly (as you swipe). Some of the features of the app are quite unique such as your personalised birth charts, your daily horoscope, and manual compatibility (lets you check your compatibility with someone outside of the app). But it’s not all about astrology, psychometric tests such as Jungian Typology and Big Five are additional scores available, which will widen the understanding of your compatibility with another.

    What information do FindingYou need to find your Soulmate?

    Required for astrological calculation: birth date, birth-time, and birthplace. Optional for psychometric scores: you will need to complete the Jungian and/or the Big Five questionnaire on the app.
